In 1981 following six years in retail and retail-related businesses, our co-founder Paul D. Bumblauskas received
his accounting degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Paul's new philosophy was based on addressing and
continually developing three key areas:
- Career Development
- Educational Development
- Personal Development
In order to develop and refine these areas supplemental skills would be required.
Despite rapid progression in management (including being the youngest recipient of the coveted Distinguished Graduate Award
from the University of Illinois at Chicago), Paul encountered problems finding cost-effective ways to gain skills and, more
importantly, in applying them to real-life situations.
To assist others with the development of these skills (primarily in accounting), Paul Bumblauskas and Edward Spelde founded
SB Associates, Certified Public Accountants in 1984. The firm based in Valparaiso, Indiana continues to provide
a wide range of accounting and financial services to a broad base of individual and business clients. During that time,
"Improving Your Bottom Line: A Blueprint for Success" was developed. This is a course
directed to INDIVIDUAL management development and focuses on corporate success as a result and bi-product of individual success.
To gain additional skills, Paul re-established a previous professional relationship with the Carpetland USA regional management
team and in executive management at Flooring America and was able to gain significant sales and operational experience
from 1994 to 2000. It is this combination of retail, accounting, sales, operations, human resources and executive management
experience that provides the foundation and core of the services offered by PFC Services, Inc. today.
